google bar dropdown search words - how to clear (MRU List)

Hi,
I searched the forum for "google bar dropdown search" and "google bar history" but
I didn't receive results so I'm posting here even though this is probably a common
question (sorry).
I do use Ad-Aware SE to clear my MRU (most recently used) lists. In the results the
entries in my google bar is listed as negligible objeccts, but when I delete them...
only say 80% of the search words I've entered into the google bar (not google's homepage,
Clearing Content in IE options doesn't help) are still there.
The old keyword searches are gone, but randomly some recent searches are left behind.
Don't know why it happens so is there any more efficient way to wipe it all out?
Clearing history from IE Options doesn't help either.
thanks

Try CCleaner,a good free cleanup program. Google for CCleaner. Under applications
check Google Toolbar. Do not use the issues part of the program unless you are sure
of what you are doing.

Open the 'Options' for the Google Tool bar.
Select the 'Search' tab.
Uncheck 'Save the search listing across browser sessions'.
