Question about 'Turn off the Clipboard Toolbar in Office 2000 and Office XP'

I have a question about Turn off the Clipboard Toolbar in Office 2000 and Office XP:

I followed all the instructions found here and on the net how to turn off the damned Office clipboard. I work daily with Excel and even if I deselected as you said in your article, Show Paste and Show Insert in Tools/Options/Edit, also in Clipboard Options I deselected everything or left on "Collect without showing..., after I reboot, the clipboard comes back; the Show Office clipboard automatically has again a checkmark. It seems that Office doesn't remember my settings. Should I try the Registry change approach suggested for Office 2000 on XP? I am running Office 2003 on XP PRO SP 2. What is wrong here? Thank you

You should first understand how this forum works, "we" did not write that article.
The site admin published those articles, but they do not answer the questions posted
in these forums. Those answering the questions, are just computer users like yourself.
Some are very knowledgeable, others are not.

I agree that the clipboard option is one of the most annoying features ever created
for Excel. I have had no trouble at all using the instructions posted in the article
to disable the damn thing. You could try the method for 2000, and if it works, post
back to let everyone know. There's certainly no risk in adding a new key, and you
can always remove the key. Perhaps your registry is "locked" by some malware. Are
you having any other problems?
