Question about 'Enabling or Disabling Automatic Windows Update'

I have a question about Enabling
or Disabling Automatic Windows Update:
Can I disable update reminders for all the programs running on my computer? All
Microsoft Programs (XP, media player, Office, etc) have update nags. Can I disable
them all at once?

I believe that if you selected "manaul update" You could
then select only the upates you wanted, XP or other
applications.

Many apps have their own update capability, which is not affected by XP's.

Many "Guru"s recommend using the "Notify me but don't automatically download or install
them" Setting in
"Automatic Updates"; I, personally, am using the "Turn off Automatic Updates" Setting
.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I was referring to MS applications updates.
