Question about 'How do I turn off the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as my default image viewer?'

I see that this subject has been kicked around quite a bit. I tried the suggested
solutions, but for Solution #1 there was no HKey "SystemFileAssociations". I was
able to complete Solution #2, but it did not turn of Picture and Fax Viewer. I am
not sure about downloading "TweakUI" because I am not sure how (or if I want) to
use it. By the way I have been running this system for about 2 yrs and this m$ view
just now popped up, how come? Thank you!

Every time I've bought a new PC I've installed Irfanview and set it as my default
picture viewer.
Irfanview is a brilliant piece of freeware with no drawbacks eg adware , it's really
a must have program.

Hi Alan
Post unclear - Do not know what solutions you refer to
Open With may be useful -
Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options, File Types,
JPEG, See Details for ..... Change as needed.

Thank you so very much David. That was a very easy fix to the troublesome Windows
Picture and Fax Viewer default. Set all JPEG files to open with Irfanview where
I want them. Again, thank you!
