svchost.exe using 100% cpu when running Microsoft Updates

Hi, I've been searching all over for an answer to this.
I did a clean install today, Windows XP Pro, and installed everything. All was running
smoothly until the stupid svchost.exe used 100% cpu, slowed down my computer, and
made microsoft update not work. I tried everything, including that patch microsoft
released a few days ago, but nothing works!
Hopefully someone can help me.
Thanks in advance =]
