Hi all, Just recently I downloaded Internet explorer 7 onto my Sony laptop Windows XP Home addition Version 2002 Service pack 2 . Since then I got nothing but trouble, my laptop is not starting properly, I need to restart it 3 or 4 times until it gets going and then it is very slow. My question to any one is, can I delete the Explorer 7 and go back to 6? Any help would be appreciated. Regards Vic

Go to Add or Remove programs, at the top of the window check show updates, Remove from there and it will revert to IE6. Then go to windows updates and run in custom mode. For that update click the + to expand the definition and check to not show that update again.

Maybe I didn't use the 'proper' method to revert back to IE6, but I just went to System Restore, and picked a point before I installed IE7.. All worked O.K. I do not recommend IE7 after MY experiences...

I don't recommend ANY version of IE now that much better and safer browsers like Firefox and Opera are freely available.

You really wouldn't want to use System Restore unless the Add/Remove Programs aproach didn't work first. The reason is by using System Restore a User may also make other changes to the Computer that they didn't expect. For the most part System Restore is something you try as a last resort option.

Judging by all the problems we've seen with the A/R approach (if update to 7 is Very
recent), I sure would go for System Restore.

A few times I have seen System Restore fix one thing only to break something else. Thats why I use it sparingly.
