A Tool for Data Recovery across a Network

To whom it may concern,
Is there a tool that will allow the scanning of a NTFS disk over a LAN network (e.g.
a XP "network Place").
The scenario is a NAS attached to a LAN accessing data from XP PC's. The NAS uses
a version of LINUX, however it is pretty much a black box.
Therefore I would prefer a XP tool like Active@undelete but with an option to scan
remote NTFS disks & recover the data.
The LAN is GE so should be quick enough.
This is for home use & not business so the solution cannnot be silly money.
I look forward to any suggestions.

Thank you for the suggestion, but it was one I have already extensively tried prior
to the posting in this forum.
The reason for the posting was the requirement for an XP tool that could fullfill
the undelete over a "Network Place" function, that I am seeking.
Since I have read in the past of several XP tools that I was not aware of in this
forum. I was hoping of some knowledgeable person posting a link or name of an XP
tool that they have used in the past to fullfill the above function.
Hence the post.
