Travel Drive Reads/Writes but is hidden

Well, I've had this PC and Travel drive for quite sometime now and they've always
acted friendly with eachother. Until now anyway.
I recently reformatted my PC 3 weeks ago after messing around with some Linux distros
before I partitioned the drive fully back onto ntfs for XPhome.
Anyway, I plug in my travel drive. The blue light blinks normally. When I go to
My Computer.. I don't see Travel Drive(F:) anywhere...

If I go to Run and type in F:, the folder pops up with my stuff. I'm able to to
read and write to it, but I have to go to run inorder to access it.

Now, this wouldn't be a problem except, I use PortableApps.com start menu. I can't
install new portable apps if I can't find the file(Which would be in F:) through
the directory browser.

The only thing I did to try to resolve is go to the device manager at the control
panel and remove the USB Mass Storage device and reboot. I came back and plugged
it back in and watched XP NORMALLY install everything like it would do naturally.
 Nothing unusual here..
But still! When I clicked my computer to see my travel drive, it was still not listed
where it normally would be.

Thanks in advance

Here's 1 screenie of the F: drive showing itself while I'm already in the F: folder.

If your USB devices don't appear in your list of drives, you can probably correct this as follows:

Open regedit. Navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Export the key for backup. Delete any value named "UpperFilters" or "LowerFilters" (Only exact match!).

Reboot.

Check other ControlSets if this doesn't fix it.

It wont navigate to that. I can only get as far as HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\. Which leaves me to play around with Services and (default) I'm using XP home if that helps any.. Nick
