boot loop

At Microsoft's request automatic updates downloaded SP2 and installed it. At reboot
it is caught in a loop. It will not finish the POST, nor will it go into safe mode.
I tried FIXBOOT, and FIXMBR to no avail.
PLEASE anyone have a solution?
