Identifying registry key for compatibility wizard

In tweaking the start menu of XP to where I felt it would be easier both to recall
where a program shortcut is located and then to launch that program, I though I had
moved the shortcut for the compatibility wizard to a new location, but it now appears
that I simply deleted it. Is there a simple way to identify either the registry key
for the compatability wizard or what name is given by Microsoft and where it is located
so that I can create a new shortcut, then rename it "compatibility wizard" and move
it to start menu?

Looks like it's C:\WINDOWS\pchealth\helpctr\System\CompatCtr\CompatMode.htm. I found
this by searching for compatability wizard in Help and Support.

My understanding is that program files will never have an htm extension, but I don't
understand the "logic" behind WindowsXP, so I tried to "run" that file. All I got
was text stating that the Compatibility Wizard could be used to resolve conflicts
between WindowsXP and programs that had worked with prior versions of Windows, but
it did not actually provide me with any means for running the program that I can
see.

Maybe you only deleted your instance of the shortcut.
Try going to
documents and settings>>default user>>start menu>>programs>>accessories and copy
the shortcut from there to your start menu.
Good Luck :)
