How do you turn off the "Work Offline" dialog box?

Does anybody know how to turn off the "Work Offline" dialog box that pops up if you
don't have an internet connection?
I have a computer that was formerly connected to the internet, but it no longer is.
Every thirty or so minutes, a dialog box pops up, and says "No connection to the
internet is available. Would you like to continue working offline, or try again?"
It's driving me nuts! So if anyone knows how to stop XP from delivering this stupid
prompt, I'd really appreciate some help.

Also, under LAN settings, uncheck "Automatically detect settings". Cheers. Spexx.

Hang on - I might have not totally followed this one. If you are not using any kind
of network connection and not using an internet browser or email client at the time
you see the message, the only thing that I can think of that might try and connect
(and generate the message) would be something like Automatic Update or some other
software product attempting to update itself over the 'net. Does that give you any
clues? Cheers. Spexx.
