drive c capacity

If I check the properties of Drive C, it says 21.3 Gb used and 30.0 GB free. If I
check the size of each folder under drive C, the total is only 16.3 GB. Why the difference,
and what is using the 5 Gb of capacity.

Some things to account for, are Hibernation, if you use it. Page File, System Restore.
Misc Hidden Files. Recycle Bin.
