Hi, a freind of mine had virusis and trojans on her pc (no A/V or Spyware) and could
not connect to the net I loaded A/V and Spyware and tried to go on the net to update
but it says "connection failed" should I be able to use my connection on her pc or
will it mean she can only use her own internet connection? thanks in advance Neil

If your friend couldn't connect to the internet because of a Virus or Spyware, why
do you think installing Antivirus or Antispyware would enable you to connect. You
have to have these things installed prior to connecting to the internet. It's like
putting on a bullet proof vest after you've been shot.
You may be able to connect to the internet if you enter Safe Mode with Networking.

Hi Tony, I`ve not explained myself properly I cleared all the infections (brought
her pc to my house) but the definitions were a bit out of date so I tried to connect
her pc with my connection to the net to update them, is or is it not possible to
connect her pc using my internet connection to do this thanks in advance Neil

It depends on your internet connection, and whether a password is required (as is
typically the case for DSL) or not (as is typically the case for cable), and whether
your ISP requires you to use a particular MAC address or not. Why don't you check
with your ISP?
