Open up your Bookmark Browser. It probably will have a feature to Organize Bookmarks,
and in that area should be a File Tab. Open that, and you should have a Import Feature,
that will open a Wizard to Import IE Favorites to The Bookmark Browser what ever
that browser may be.. Once the Favorites are Imported you can then Export the Bookmarks
to the Desktop in the form of a html file to be saved anyway you want.

To Steve: Thank you for your message. I used to be able to do what you suggest but
I can't do that any more. Bookmarks (as compared to Favorites) is a Netscape product,
and Netscape doesn't exist any more. Please advise. Thank you. Mike Brown

Use Firefox Browser instead. It uses Bookmarks a lot like Netscape.

To Steve: But does Firefox have an "import and export" link? If not then how would
I export my Favorites to Netscape? Thank you.

Generally, when you set up Netscape or Firefox or whatever Mozilla product you have,
it will import your Favorites as a matter of course unless you tell it no. This is
very easy to do. And once you've done this, (some versions of) Netscape doesn't make
it easy to import from M$IE.
Ok. Export from M$IE to Netscape. First, figure out where the bookmarks. html file
is. Then, using the File menu in M$IE, click on Export and pretty much follow the
yellow brick road.
