The key to press is normally displayed as the very first text in the startup. It's
either the delete key, F1, F2, or maybe escape... those are the most common. If you
can't enter the BIOS, there is nothing anyone here can do for you, since the problem
would be hardware related.

One thing you might try, is to completely unplug the system from the wall socket
for 60 or more seconds then try again to start it.

You need to say more about the symptoms to get better advice.

Do you see the Dell logo EVERY time you turn the machine on, and then, after showing
you the Dell logo, everything goes black??

Or did you see it ONCE, and now when you turn the machine on, you get NOTHING?

What model Dell is it?

After it goes black, is the machine still turned on? Power light on? Fan spinning?
Have you tried a different monitor? Is the power indicator on the monitor lit up?
