Problem with either monitor or video card

I suddenly started having problems with my monitor. My screen gets very bright and
fades out all text. It also seems to have locked up my mouse when this happens. After
about a minute the screen will start coming back as normal from top to bottom as
if nothing was wrong and the mouse will work...everything will be fine. This has
happned twice in the last few days. Dont know if it is monitor or if it could be
a different problem such as video card.

Robert, no one here can tell you if it is the monitor or video card.. You have to
do some troubleshooting yourself, buddy. Plug a different monitor in to it.. Then
YOU tell me which one it is.. :)

I guess that I should have worded this differently. Could the video card cause a
problem such as this?

Since the Mouse Locks up, my bet is the Computer is the Problem. Swapping out the
Vid Card would be a another step.

Yeah, if the mouse is locking up then it is a PC problem.. But, from the original
description, it sounds like a possibility that he can't even see the mouse, and may
assume it is locked up. So, that was why I suggested trying a different monitor,
as that would be the easiest first step.. :)
