XP SP3 Problems - No Tabs and No History

I installed XP SP3 and liked it, until I realized that it took away my ability to open new tabs when viewing webpages. Also, there seems to be no way to access my history of viewed webpages. How do i get these two things to appear again?

Have you checked the settings are correct in Tools>Options>General>Browsing History>Settings and Tools>Options>General>Tabs>Settings? Perhaps the installation of SP3 changed them ??

(a newbie) A later post (http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/1210361146) makes reference to IE7 versus IE6....perhaps SP3 switched you back to IE6, and you would just need to upgrade again to IE7? Just an idea. I am looking into SP3 since my first try at it was not succesful.

Better if you reply to Thom's thread directly otherwise he will not be notified of your reply to him....

SP3 does not cause IE to revert to version 6.

I think the reference you have seen is a recommendation to revert to 6 before SP3 and then reinstall 7 after SP3 so that you have the future option to uninstall 7 - all a bit convoluted!

Update. I uninstalled SP3 and reinstalled it. The history and tabbed browsing are back. Weird, isn't it?
