Why does Norton Antivirus take so long to scan

I've got Norton A/V 07, and my previous version of 06 worked just fine, but 07 takes
a painfully long time to complete a scan. I started my scan last night and it's not
even halfway through. I could check on it in about 8 hours and it still won't be
done. Does anyone have any ideas or solutions?

This is not a Symantec forum. Most regulars here don't use Symantec products because
of performance issues. Best advice you'll find here is to get rid of it. If you don't
want to do that post your question to Symantec's tech support.
