99% of the time it just pops up pertaining to Acrobat reader.exe, sometimes Illustrator.exe The instructions at "0x032f631d" referenced memory at "0x032f631d". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program

One of the Adobe dll's probably got pinged. Try re-installing one or the other.
Of course, if that library is shared with another application that replaced it with 
a different version (as opposed to a damaged file), you may have problems with it.
