One of my users is off site and connects to our domain through a vpn. I'm trying to figure out why he cannot open up any hyperlinks inside of Outlook.

Any help here?

Not sure how the connection method would impact Outlook's behavior....when not connected
to the domain via VPN, does the behavior change?

When not connected to the vpn the hyperlinks work correctly. The addresses are not for the intranet either.

Here's another possibility:

If this is a Windows 2008 domain, there are about a zillion new Group Policy Objects,
some of which may have gotten bollixed up and caused the problem. Do you have a
test or model account on the domain that the user can try from the same computer?

We are running a 2003 box. I'm not sure what you are getting at with testing with a different user. I can make another user and have him try that if that's what you are suggesting. This is what the user said about error messages: "There is no message from Outlook. It just tries to keep connecting and finally times out." I personally haven't seen the issue yet, and I am going to hopefully get a chance to try this outside of the office myself. I can't test it now since I'm on the internal network at the moment. I'm just trying to get ideas for how to respond since Google isn't offering much help. I'm starting to believe it is something with the cisco vpn client, but I have no idea what.
