Hi!!!!!!! I'm using kaspersky internet security 2009. all things are going good with this except i see a red security icon in my icon tray, ehich tells me that updates are turned off. when i try to make it on a message is displayed something like this that 'we cant make it turned on, go to security center in control panel'. this problem occured after installing kaspersky. please let me know how to resolve this problem and is kaspersky is adequate for my system?

Contact the maker of the software for Help. If it was Me I would just turn off the 
Security Center, and the System Tray notifications will stop.

I also have the same problem, along with a few other issues, which only happened after I downloaded and installed Kaspersky virus scanner program. I am now fighting some sort of virus which will not allow me access to my control panel, My Computer, or Run (see the thread called "Cannot access my control panel" by ross kennedy for more info) Try some of the suggestions posted there and also try a prgram called SDFix (which must be run in safe mode after downloading and installing) hope this helps, Ross

thanks a lot ross. i restored my system and now i m using norton 360 and it is quite better.
