Hello Well I'm finally ready to format my harddrive and THEN reinstall Windows XP (as opposed to just deleting the windows fodler and reinstalling over it)
> However I had a couple of Queries, One will this completely obliterate everything on the old drive (so theres no chance of old settings or whatnot messing things up)

If you use the XP disk for formatting, nothing will remain that will mess up your new installation. The XP disk is perfectly adequate for the task - before you start you might give some thought to how many partitions you want - and have a read of this C: for Windows and programs D: for your own data is a sensible minimum.

Sorry, re-read your post and there is a question in there.  I missed it cause of 
the carrots.

Yes it will delete everything, and the best way to do it is with the XP CD

Actually, ^ is a carat (also referred to as circumflex).
I think the poster was (erroneously) referring to >.
