Question about 'Turn Off the PC-Speaker'

I have a question about Turn Off the PC-Speaker:

Thanks for telling us how to turn off the 'default' sounds from our hard-drives, but I would like to know how to get my hard-drive to stop imitating speakers and run quietly while the speakers make all the sounds.
In other words, how can I direct all sound to my speakers (like my dad's computer does?)

Hard drives don't ever imitate speakers. The surest way to turn off the internal
speaker in a desktop system, is to open the case and unplug it.
