While running my weekly anti-virus program I got an error message saying "You're over quota please reconfigure". This happened both before I started the program and after it was done. What's up and what should I do?

Keep it simple. Thanks.

Doesn't it seem like you should ask the tech support for your AV software? You didn't
even tell us what AV software you are using.

I guess the simplest thing you could do would be to pull the plug on your system.
Without knowing anymore information than you have provided, it's hard to give a
solution. I Googled your error message and came up empty. That is very unusual.
Makes me wonder if you are reading it correctly.

Start with this Google search page but key in the name of your AV program after the
error message. You may be able to come up with something useful, but you sure won't
here.

Maybe you have NTFS disk quotas enabled? If so just disable it.

Thanks for the tips from those who gave them. I'm not on a network but I appreciate that. I will check with the anti-vitus people I didn't realize it might be a problem with that particular program. I thought it was overuse of my RAM or something. Like my signature says I'm no expert here. I did first Google it and also came up with nothing. For the guy who thinks I can't read I can take a snapshot. Actually I wouldn't waste my time on him now that I think about it. And for those with snide comments why didn't you just ignore my Post? If you needed help with my area of expertise I would hope I wouldn't treat you that way.

Keep it simple. Thanks.

If you are connected to the internet, you are connected to a network.

Mmmm then why the question? If I was on the website I'd have to be connected to the web, but possibly via a LAN. Correct? Learning every day.

Keep it simple. Thanks.

It had nothing to do with the anti-virus program. I had recently signed up for a on-line back-up service which automatically backed up my files. It went over my allotted quota. The error message displayed only a icon and the error message. The icon, similar to the anti-virus program icon, was not recognized until now. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Keep it simple. Thanks.
