Could not delete user

Win 2003 Server password

I was going to delete my user and re-create it, transferring my settings backed up through the files and settings wizard. However, when logged on as 'Administrator', I could not delete my current user. Navigation: Control Panel > User Accounts. Is there some other way to delete my user account? I had previously deleted my user account because my previous account was 'corrupt'. Environment Win XP Pro 2002 SP3 (32 bit).

Jon

I believe you need to create another account before you can delete the current one. Makes sense if you think about it since you can't logon to Administrator when you do a normal boot, only in Safe Mode.

If you want to keep the same account name, create another throw away account while in Safe Mode. Do a normal boot and login as the account. Reboot to Safe Mode, login as Administrator and delete the old account, then recreate it.

Normal boot and login as the new account. Restore your data, then delete the throw away account.
