A comment about Remove 
the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant (ClickOnce) Firefox Extension:


It looks like this happens for Chrome as well. The offending registry keys and folders 
were indeed installed on my PC at about the same time I allowed the .NET 3.5 update 
to occcur, and I have never yet installed Firefox on this PC.

Though I'm not even sure that Chrome has the capacity for this sort of extension 
as yet...
