I tried doing a search but I was unable to find a solution.  

While trying to do an install the system crashed and now I have the Windows installer 
saying it is installing a program then says it can't continue over and over and over. 
 

The process is the notorious msiexe.exe file (Ugh!) Is there any way to fix this? 
 I am tempted to delete every msiexe.exe on the system but I am sure as soon as I 
reinstall the installed it will start all over again.  

Is there a software out there that can fix this issue?  I have tried several Reg 
repair programs and none of them seem to help.

I would hate to have to reinstall the OS but I might have too.

I am not sure if it was the blackberry install or the Roxio (yuck) that is embedded into the install that did it. Here's a thought.... what would I run into if I did a regedit and deleted every msiexe (install program) that is not windows, adobe, norton, etc. I would think I would have to stop it that way. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 2:43 am Posted by Gene (6 messages posted) I think, I hope, I figured it out. Since I was ready to reinstall the OS I decided to get radical. I exported my registry so I had a back up. Then I searched the registry for 'msiexe' and started to remove 5 lines (5 finds) at a time. Then rebooted to see if the problem went away. After about 5 reboots the problem stopped. I restored the registry from the back up and started deleting the last 5 one at a time. It looks like it was a Micro Soft update (go figure) that was stuck in the install. So far, after 5 or 6 reboots the problem has not came back. I am not saying this is for everyone but it seems to have worked for me.
