Recently after a local tech zeroed my laptop XP SP2, I successfully restored it using
Sony restore disks.

Now when I download an app it doesn't give me a choice on where I want the installer.
It automatically goes into C:\ Documents and Settings\ Owner\ My Documents\Downloads.

Even though it's easy to go 'fetch' it there I've found it less annoying to download
on my desktop computer and transfer it with a flash drive. Silly I know, but I'm
stubborn...lol.

I would be so grateful for any ideas on how to tame this equally stubborn computer.
There should be a Computer Whisperer somewhere.

Thank you all so much,
Helen~

The place to make the change is in Firefox>tools>options>main.

Here I was blaming it on Microsoft. Sorry M$.

I just recently discovered that, too...since I updated to the newest version of Firefox,
it "changes" your download location even if a previous version was present....
