I am having problems with my keyboard. When I hit The Left shift key to use caps in a word The shift key puts a space before what I wanted To do. If I hold down The shift key it acts like a spacebar. The second problem I Am having as you can See In this message That the keyboard Automatically capitalizes words At random. This all makes for very irritating and time consuming typing. Lastly, if I hit The right shift key, it highlights The whole word I was Typing. Please help ! I am At a loss with what to do. Thanks So much.

What you describe is fairly typical of keyboard failure. The first thing
is to try another keyboard, if you have or can borrow one. This will
determine whether the fault lies in the keyboard itself or elsewhere.
As C.K. said a day or so ago in another thread, it is always a good
idea to have a spare one hand, especially in the case of USB types.

Unfortunately it's a laptop.

Oops. Yes I overlooked that -- possibly spooked wondering about the
meaning of 'Issus' -- obviously itself the result of a keyboard error.

Looks like a factory replacement job.

Doesn't matter that it's a Laptop. You can connect a PS2 keyboard to the back of
the LT and use it to see if it's the keyboard or the Software.

Also try uninstalling the Keyboard in Device Manager then reboot. windows will detect
the KB and reinstall the files for it.
