"Compress Old Files" doesn't change after running Windows Cleanup

I run Windows Cleanup everyday and formerly it would show only a few files that needed cleaning up. Now it always shows over 50,000 files in the Compress Old Files category and this never changes, even after running cleanup. Why does this not empty out? (And, yes, it is checked off in the box to the left.) How can I empty it manually, so I don't see it every time I run Cleanup?

Compress Old Files just compresses unused files that are 60 days old. It doesn't delete them. It will slow the computer down in the long run, because every time Windows needs to access one of the Compressed files it has to decompress the file to use it.
