hi..
m using two os in my laptop.
win-xp and win vista, wen creating an account type adminstrator in xp, i check the
box showing access permissions restricted to other users.
now wen ever i try to access files of xp from vista i m not able to do so, but from
xp m able to access al files of xp.
plz tell me how to correct this. i want to access files of xp from vista os.

It is a problem with Vistas added security. Try the Vista Forum.

I reread your post, try disableing the XP Firewall as a test to see if that helps.

Easiest? Stop using "my documents". Create a new folder and use it.

I'd second Jacob6611's post.
For docs that you want each installation to be able access, make a dedicated storage
folder off of the c: drive and store those docs in there.
