It seems nothing to do with the keyboard. It is the result of an unclean shutdown.
If you can access the panel Add Remove hardware then click upon it and then follow
what it says. But if the OS does not load you can't do it and would need a bootable
medium. I have
been trying to see whether it can be done without a boot disc but
so far no go. You can also download Knoppix and start your
computer with it and see if you can find the needed panel.
