Google Maps Street View not working

On my older Sony Vaio laptop, the "street view" does not work on Google Maps. I use
XP Pro SP3 with the latest updates, and IE7.
Interestingly when I see a third party webpage that embeds a Google map with street
view, the street view works on it. I.e. real estate listings on trademe.co.nz do
show the street view properly in their embedded Google map.
Any ideas how to make street view work on my Vaio?

enable add-ins, it has nothing to do with the fact its a Vaio

Thanks for the advice. Under Tools -> Manage Add-ons , I have only 2 add-ons specifically
disabled, "Diagnose Connection Problems" and "Windows Messenger". Which add-in /
add-on are you referring to? Mark

That's your problem, Flash should be there.

Flash is on. The version is 10.0.32.18. Anything else I may need for street view

Then it should be listed in your IE Add-ons, and you said it isn't.
That means it is not installed completely.

mind, is flash showing in your IE add ons yes or no.

Mark had stated that he has "2 add-ons specifically disabled".
He didn't specifically list the other add-ons...

Yes, I have only 2 add-ons disabled.
"Shockwave Flash Object" is enabled, and in my Add / Remove Programs list, I see
that I have Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX 10.0.32.18.

reset the explorer.... internet options > advance .. > reset > yes > try again...
for faster solutions change browser... but i think you solved this by now! sorry

Thanks for the advice. It did not work. However what worked is the following:
1) I installed IE8
2) I uninstalled IE8 (which I find inconvenient)
3) I now can see Google street view in IE7
