Will Office 97 run on a new Dell Inspiron 15 (1545) 64 bit with the Windows XP upgrade?
I does run on my Dell 4300 32 bit.
Thanks

Apps don't care what the hardware is, as long as they will run in the OS. Office
97 worked fine for me on XP, others have reported different experiences.

I'm happily running Office 97 on XP SP3
There are a few freeware programs available to ensure compatibility with later file
types.

Thanks very much. I'm thinking of buying a new Dell 15 and laptop ($549) getting
the XPP upgrade ($120) as our desktop (Dell 4300 and 8 years old) is XP and all our
add on software is for XP. Would we be better off getting Windows 7? And biting the
bullet now.
