But why not just hide it - its probably doing no harm except that seeing it offends you. Taskbar right click . . . properties and set it to Always Hide. You can get it here: http://www.revouninstaller.com/ (see the righthand side of the page, you're looking for the "Download Now" link). Install it. Run it. Up at the top, you'll see a button that says "Hunter Mode." Select that. Now you should see a little blue gunsight-like thing on your screen. Drag that so it's pointing at the unwanted icon. When it's pointing at the offending icon, let go of the mouse button. You'll see a menu with options. One of the options will be "Uninstall". Choose that. Ta-dah, icon gone forever. Get rid of it, and get rid of the icon. Network related icons can be pretty pesky about coming back into view.
