When I try to open any web browser (firefox, IE etc) I always have to click the icon several times for it to initially open once it's open everything works well. Scans with AGV and spybot S&D are all clear.

Are you talking about a desktop icon?  You know you have to DOUBLE click them (that 
is, click twice in rapid succession) for the program to open, right?
