Running Windows XP SP3. After booting up computer the background picture previously selected appears but does not stay. It cuts to black leaving just the icons. If I set in a new background picture it stays for duration of sesson on computer. Next start-up causes picture to disappear to black after all files are loaded. Any suggestions as to how to fix ? thanks for this excellent helpful site....Mike

You may have to de-activate active desktop.

Google for "Windows Active Desktop".
