Error message with Internet Explorer 6

Friends: I can browse with Firefox, no problem. But when I try to browse with Internet
Explorer 6 I can't get any site and keep getting the message: "The requested lookup
key was not found in any activation context". I did a repair installation of XP twice,
still same result. Windows XP Pro. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks for any help.

Yes, I can see someone was trying to install IE7. I did a search and deleted all
references to IE7. I do not know if this is enough, or if I need an uninstall program
to totally wipe it out.
