Doubled Accent Keys

Starting yesterday, my fiancee noticed that her keyboard doesn't handle accents properly
(using the Swedish language and Swedish keyboard layout). When she types the accent,
tilde, circumflex keys and so on, they turn up doubled (like this: ´´ ¨¨ ^^ ~~).
Anyone have any ideas as to what might cause this? Googling around shows one person
with a similar keyboard (Logitech) who had a similar problem, but they never shared
their resolution. Like him, using the accessibility on-screen keyboard also shows
this problem -- so it doesn't seem to just be a hardware bug with the keyboard.
Advice appreciated.

If you installed any Logitech drivers or software get rid of that and see if it helps.

No new software having to do with Logitech.
However, more Googling shows certain trojans end up causing this, for whatever reason.
A scan with Malwarebytes showed several trojans (no idea where those came from) which
we've removed. The problem has gone away since then, it seems.

Interesting side effect, thanks for getting back to us. Always good to learn these
oddball causes.
