files don't support browsing anymore??

All of my folders seem to be governed by a search command- I can't just see all my
files like normal.
Each folder also opens in a separate window, despite my essentantly selecting contrary
options.
I have played with all to folder settings to no avail.
What settings will fix this?
Thanks,
Kevin S.

Have you tried My Computer, Tools, Folder Options and then setting the View and General
tabs back to their defaults?
