I wanted to delete a partition on my hard drive and when I put the XP CD in my opitcal drive it will start up but after awhile it will come up as PCMICA.SYS is corrupted. so I hooked up my other drive that has XP on it and it gave the same error PCMICA.SYS is corrupted.do I have a bad XP CD or is there something wrong with my drives? can someone please help me. thank you

If all you want to do is delete a partition then you can do that through disk management, 
you don't need to boot to the cd.  What exactly are you trying to do?  I say you 
most likely have a bad cd or bad hardware in your system.

I presume you mean pcmcia.sys. This is a PCI card driver. You may be
able to retrieve a replacement from Microsoft but first check the 
original has not been altered by malwafre. There are many references 
on Google so you may well find the solution there.
