AVG 9.0 disables Windows Defender

If Grisoft/AVG did this by design they should be ashamed of themselves There is no
notice about this anywhere I could find. If it's a bug they should fix it immediately.
I've always been suspicious of AVG's Resident Sheild so I disabled it and that fixed
the problem. As a bonus two of my machines now have a noticeable improvement in responsiveness!...I'll
get to several others soon. I've posted this on AVG's forum as well where there are
several complaints about this.

Why? It's not advisable to run two AV programs at the same time. They can get in
each others way.

Defender is not an antivirus program, as I'm sure you know, so there should be no
conflicts with AVG. It's always coexisted fine with AVG in the past despite my low
level suspicion about AVG's Resident Sheild. Now, if the case is that Grisoft has
decided to start disabling other vendors legitimate security products because they
think they know better, that's another topic entirely.
