I have not been unable to update Microsof Net Framework 1.1 service pack 1 security update for windows 2000 and wondows server 2008 R2 [kb953297]. Is anyone else having the same problem. I talked with a microsoft tect. they said to chage the software folder to a new name, but unable to rename folder was denied access. Thank you Mary Madrid

Don't know anything about the update, but I would try changing the name of the folder from the safemode.

I found it by browsing my XP installation disk.

Hi, Pls do the following: 1. Uninstall .NET Framework v 1.1 including earlier hotfix (which probably is the cause for the problem) from Add/Remove programs. 2. If you have a language package for v 1.1, uninstall that. 3. Restart and go to WUP, which will install .NET Framework v 1.1 in your language. 4. Return to WUP, which will install KB953297. 5. Restart and go to WUP again and KB953297 will be installed once more(!) 6.Restart and go to WUP again just to see that there is nothing more to install. 7. Done. Best wishes, Swedish jiger
