Modem/Internet

I am new here-my problem: Today, reformatted hard-drive, and unable to access internet
cable connection/modem. Tried 2nd reformat-same result.
Any ideas? I am sincerely ready to throw the laptop out onto the tollway when traffic
dies down later tonight at this point.

I'm unsure about how to install the Network Card Driver. According to the windows
xp walkthrough, the reinstallation cd was all-inclusive. Is there a way to download
the appropriate driver? Do I need to know any specifics on my hardware? I didn't
see any other disks that came with the computer when I received it 3 years ago. Thanks.

If nothing else, go to your computer mfrs website and download all the device drivers,
I..E. Network card, wireless, sound, etc...to a jump drive and then install from
there...

The modem's website won't do you any good. You need to go to the laptops manufacturer
website and download the driver for your specific model. What model of laptop do
you have?

Did you reinstall your ISP software after the reinstall? Cable Modem Drivers are
not included in the OEM Restore Media.
Contact your ISP support.
It would help if you'd post SOME useable info.

Why wait until the traffic dies down? LOL
Seriously, have you looked in device manager?
Go into device manager (Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager)
and look at Network Adapters. If there is a yellow exclamation point or some other
abnormal indication there, double-click it and see what is wrong. If it is a driver
issue you might be able fix the driver there by getting / updating the driver from
your O/S installation source.
