In Folder options, under File types. Find the Program in the List, and you will have a Change icon Tab under the Advanced Button for the file.

This is a bit off topic - nothing to do with Windows.
The answer though is yes, download a free app called Resource Hacker , find and replace the offending icon.
Backup the exe first.

Thanks Steve for the info. The problem is the software is just a graphic viewer. So it has no inherent extension or file type. I just associate whatever type images I want to go with it. Mostly jpgs. So the change icon option is not available.

Thanks Gilzean. I'm checking this little utility out also. I assumed I could do it without any extra utility but I'm having problems doing so!

Change the file associations back to their default settings, and just open items you want to infranview with the rt click, open with.

Infranview has a file associations setting in options. Just uncheck all the file that are checked.

I want Infranview to be associated with all those files. Its just the icon it puts on them that sucks. :-P And yes I'm a bit OCD.

You can have the default Windows icons, and keep infranview as the default program. At least that is the way it works on My PC. The infranview icon is coded into the programs exe file.
