Question about 'Remove the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant (ClickOnce) Firefox Extension'

I have a question about Remove
the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant (ClickOnce) Firefox Extension:
Thank you so much for the info you provided! I just found this article and followed
the removal instructions to the letter. In the last step I checked FF add-ons and
found the Microsoft.NET Framework Assistant extension had not been removed using
this procedure. I chose to uninstall it at this point.
Now I'm wondering if the validity of this article still exists today? Meaning have
there been more updates since the February push that could have corrected the problem
the original push caused? I really have no idea what the add on would be used for
anyway. I'm just curious.

The add on serves no purpose, except perhaps an opportunity for M$ to put it to their
competition.

You may want to check with http://mozilla.com or other sources that cite this problem:

Maybe M$ has twigged to this list of instructions. They seem to have added another
level of difficulty. I found that in the registry there is another entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ MozillaPlugins
called @microsoft.com/WPF,version=3.5.
It puts the add-on back into Firefox. If you delete this key (and all sub-keys) then
it no longer shows up in the add-on list. 'Course you still have to deal with it
being re-installed by updates.

Then skip the stupid pointless updates.
